Memorial service for Queen Elizabeth II
Her late Majesty the Queen will be remembered at a memorial service in North East Derbyshire next month.
North East Derbyshire District Council has organised the event, which will take place on Sunday 5 February - almost a year to the day the country joined together to celebrate Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee.

Council freezes Leisure membership prices
Leisure membership prices have been frozen by North East Derbyshire District Council despite soaring energy costs, giving a helping hand to residents (throughout) the district.
Despite rising energy costs, the council has been able to make sure customers are not paying any extra for their memberships, due to sound financial management of the centres.

Business start up support event
North East Derbyshire District Council are working with D2N2 Growth Hub, Vision Derbyshire Start Up and the University of Derby to encourage new start ups in the district, and this event is part of the package of support.

Dronfield resident fined hundreds for fly tipping
North East Derbyshire District Council issued a £400 fixed penalty notice to the resident after their waste was found fly tipped in Eckington. The resident paid the charge of £300 following payment within 10 days of the notice being issued.
Evidence was retrieved from the waste by a Council Enforcement Officer in December after it was reported by a vigilant member of the public.

New classes on at Eckington Swimming Pool and Fitness Centre.
Monday 9th January saw the launch of our new class timetable at Eckington.
Why not try Barbell Fitness on Wednesday's at 6pm-6.45pm with Suzanne- this is a full body workout containing resistance based exercises to strengthen and tone the whole body.

NEDDC awarded £2.58m to enhance North East Derbyshire
North East Derbyshire District Council has been awarded £2.5 million UK Shared Prosperity funding to spend on initiatives to improve the District's parks, play areas, shop fronts, tourism offer and business support amongst other improvements over the coming years.

Household support fund vouchers
Additional support for low income pensioners and adults receiving home care will be available from February 2023
